Vantage, through its subsidiaries, has been active in the Barberton region for the past 20 years and has a very good relationship with local communities.

The company’s policy of drawing its labour from these communities has resulted in the exceptionally low staff turnover. The directors and management are confident that this stable environment will enhance the sustainability of the company’s operations.

Health & Safety of Employees

Vantage recognizes each individual's right to work in an environment that is safe and not detrimental to his/her health in any way whatsoever. To this end the employees of Vantage are informed about all potential risks, trained in the appropriate use of equipment and chemicals and provided with the necessary personal protective equipment. Regular discussions are held regarding safety issues and matters relating to the health and wellbeing of employees.

Environmental Management

The company engages independent consultants to assist its management in complying with statutory and regulatory requirements pertaining to responsible environmental management.

Community/Stakeholder involvement

In keeping with its ongoing support of the local community the company is in the process of formalizing its commitment to social upliftment of the community from which its workforce and shareholder (Lomshiyo Investments (Pty) Ltd) are drawn. Such involvement includes contributions towards schools, clinics and sports facilities.
